“An AMAZING weekend serving and worshiping God!”
This is how the 2018 Elkhorn Hills UMC Youth Winter Retreat was described by approximately 30 youth and adult chaperones. This was the sixth year that guest speaker, Lynne (Hennegan) Benik came to Nebraska to share her love of Jesus Christ and inspire us to find where we “fit in.”
The youth spent Saturday morning serving at Heartland Hope Mission. Saturday afternoon, they prepared for the spaghetti dinner fundraiser. They cooked, set up, served, and cleaned up prior to the evening’s worship.
Youth Led Worship Service
The youth led the Friday night, Saturday night, and both Sunday morning worship services. The Youth Praise Band led the music, guest speaker Lynne Benik gave the message about how to “Fit In” and the youth members served in various capacities throughout worship. All the services were uplifting and energetic.
Thank you to Jenny Meyer, for all your planning, work and dedication to the youth of Elkhorn Hills UMC. We appreciate all you do, your love for these youth members and their families, and your leadership of the Youth Ministries programs at Elkhorn Hills.
Thank you, also, to the adult chaperones and the parents who helped with transportation, service throughout the weekend, coordination of meals and snacks, and all the details associated with this weekend retreat.
Thank you to Lynne and AJ Benik for their love and service to Jesus and to our youth. We loved having you here!
