A BIG THANK YOU to those 67 volunteers that helped with Vacation Bible School! Thank you again to all the members of the congregations for supporting the children’s Vacation Bible School, and Thank you to the Children’s Committee that helped with all the details leading up to June 24.
VBS at Elkhorn Hills 2018 was able to educate approximately 170 children about the love of Jesus Christ! That is an increase of 12 from attendance last year. The children had a blast, as I am sure most of the volunteers did, too. Of those 170 kiddos, approximately 25-30 of them actually attend our church. I think if we were ever wondering what impact VBS at Elkhorn Hills has on our church, I think these numbers speak for the amazing outreach and marketing VBS does to make our church present in the community.
VBS Mission Project
Our mission project again this year was the Fostering Hope Program. We filled 100 Hope bags for them this year. These hope bags will provide a comfort for those children that are pulled out of the comfort of their own homes away from their families and put into the system where they feel scared and alone. The items in these bags will hopefully provide them with that sense of comfort during this hard time.
Ashley Bossert is the Director of Children’s Ministries & Assistant Preschool Director at Elkhorn Hills UMC. Members of the Elkhorn Hills Children’s Committee include: Ashley Holtz, Nicole Peterson, Meghan Wilson, Ashley Torrey, Erin Ritter, Steph Plouzek, April Behnke, Emily Hughes and Heather McBeth.
Without their help, this would have been a lot harder to organize!
