Congratulations to Elkhorn Hills UMC member Sue Adamson who ends her long career as an Elkhorn elementary teacher. Sue Adamson came to the Elkhorn School District in 1979 and has taught in three elementary schools during that time. Her strong faith and hard work characterize this verse from Galations 6:9-10 . . .
“Let’s not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest—if we do not give up.”
Sue earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. At Elkhorn, she taught third grade at Skyline Elementary and fourth and fifth grades at Hillrise before Fire Ridge Elementary opened in 2005. She was part of the core team for the new school, and taught fifth grade at Fire Ridge.
Sue was honored at a Retirement Reception on May 2, 2018. Others that were recognized include: Sharon Smith, Ron Phelps, Debra Neighbors, Christine Quandt, Carol Akers, Katherine Goolsby, Pamela Wright, Karen Crawford, and Muriel Bacus.
Her plans for retirement include spending more time with her grandchildren. In her free time, Sue enjoys reading, knitting and travelling. Her family includes her son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Katie Adamson, and grandchildren, Ellie, Blake and Carter in Elkhorn; and son, Ben Adamson, and granddaughter, Nola, in Des Moines, Iowa.
