School Supply Drive – final push

The Elkhorn Hills UMC Missions Committee reports that on the School Supply Drive:

As always, the Elkhorn Hills congregation is coming through with donations for school supplies. The shopping cart was nearly full this past Sunday and additional cash donations were received as well. We’re closing in on having everything that we need; however, we’re short in just a couple of areas. If you haven’t yet had a chance to purchase and donate supplies and want to help, we can still use the following:

  • 305 Spiral notebooks (We know this still sounds like a lot, but we put 4 in each School Kit that we send to UMCOR, so the numbers add up);
  • 416 unsharpened #2 pencils and
  • 99 pairs of blunt scissors.

Next Sunday, July 30, will be the last day to collect for supplies.  We will start putting the COPE back packs together that will be given out the second week of August to those families in our area who just need a little extra help at this time.

Your generosity is much appreciated. Thank you,

Paul Dritley, COPE Representative Jan Heliker, Knit and Sew Group
