Weather Closings:

In case of bad weather, listen to the local radio stations or the local television stations for school closings.  We will follow the Elkhorn Public Schools for snow days or extreme cold.  If Elkhorn closes, Elkhorn Hills Preschool and PDO will close as well. If Elkhorn calls for a late start, all Elkhorn Hills Preschool and PDO classes will be canceled for that day. Also, the teachers reserve the right to close even if Elkhorn is still having school if we deem that the weather is severe.

Snacks:

The parents provide the snacks at Elkhorn Hills Preschool and Parents’ Day Out. Exact numbers of children to provide for will be listed on the snack calendar. Water will be provided by the preschool. If you have any questions about your designated snack day, please call the preschool.

Snack Suggestions: The State Licensing Department recommends that we serve healthy snacks. Because we are licensed as both daycare and preschool, we are required to provide only store-bought and packaged snacks during the school day. Please use good judgment and lean toward fruits, vegetables, cheese, crackers, yogurt, etc.

We have encountered more food allergies with young children. Elkhorn Hills is a PEANUT-FREE ZONE. This means that due to peanut allergies we are asking that no peanuts, peanut butter…anything peanut/nut tree-related be brought into the building. When peanuts and children with this allergy come into contact, there can be a life- threatening situation. Please remind us in writing if your child has dietary restrictions.
