Youth Mission Trip

Mission Sunday Worship Service

On Sunday, August 6th, our youth led the worship service, which was devoted to recapping the Middle High and Senior High mission trips this summer.  Youth members served as greeters, ushers, communion stewards, scripture readers and led us in prayer.  Youth Director Jenny Meyer led the Children’s Time.

The Youth Praise Team, which consists of Karissa Heckens, Kaleb Heckens, Jordyn Ritnour, Nathaniel Robinson, Elly Beeson, Jason Meyer, Lindsey Roberg, Ashleigh Ritter, and Bailey Klanderud, led the worship songs throughout the service.

The 2017 Youth Mission Trips were recapped with a fun video then speakers from each trip recounted some of their most meaningful moments.

Middle High Mission Trip

Caitlyn McBeth spoke about the Middle High Mission Trip, where the 23 youth members and chaperones served as Hope Center in Fremont, Together, Inc. in Omaha, and Youth Emergency Services (YES) in Omaha before having devotion time at the Thompson family cabin.

Jackson Thompson led the youth in a laser tag activity about betrayal then the group discussed a lesson about Jesus’ ultimate betrayal by Judas Iscariot.  Greg Roberg led an activity about barriers to God then led an activity with wooden planks.

Senior High Mission Trip

Bailey Klanderud spoke about the Senior High Mission Trip, where 19 youth members and chaperones served at Family Life Services in Colorado Springs, CO.  Lindsey Roberg then spoke about the daily devotions led by Next Step Ministries each evening.  A powerful “Truth or Dare” video was shown about a couple who seemingly had the perfect life before they suffered a life-changing, lifelong health challenge.  The inspiring way this couple approaches life impacted the entire congregation.

Pastor Rebecca led the congregation in The Lord’s Supper.
