Elkhorn High School Marching Band

The Elkhorn High School marching band ended their season October 24th competing in the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association Contest held at Millard South’s Buell Field.  Elkhorn High School earned a ninth place finish in the field of 16 bands.  Elkhorn Hills member and senior Jordyn Ritnour plays percussion in the band and has a great picture in the Douglas County Post Gazette.  The top ten bands were:  1) Bellevue West; 2) Papillion-LaVista South; 3) Millard West and Bellevue East tied; 5) Millard North; 6)  Omaha Burke; 7)  Millard South; 8)  Norris; 9)  Elkhorn; and 10) Gretna.

Elkhorn’s Ace Otters Swim Club

ace ottersThe Hope Center for Kids hosted their annual “Hail to the King” fall party on October 29th.  Elkhorn’s Ace Otters swim club supported the event by providing 41 volunteers for all the games and activities.  Volunteers included Josh Uehling (far left in picture) and his mother Kathy Uehling (not pictured).  Josh and Kathy helped organize the backward basketball shoot-outs for children and teenagers attending the event.  Other fun activities offered included pumpkin painting, splat ball, word puzzles, and digging for worms.  Prizes were donated from the Oriental Trading Company.

Tarzan the Stage Musical

Tarzan the Stage Musical is coming to Elkhorn High School.  Director Abby Thompson and 100 Elkhorn High School students are involved in the cast, crew, orchestra and creative team for this production.  Showtimes are 7 pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 5 – 7 and 2 pm matinees on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8.   Haydn Muir,Elkhorn Hills UMC member and Elkhorn High School senior, plays Tarzan.  Torrie Cammack, Elkhorn Hill UMC member, is part of the ensemble women and is Crew Chief for costumes.  Good luck Haydn and Torrie!  Break a leg!  See the great article and pictures in the Douglas County Post Gazette.
