About Habitat Omaha

Habitat for Humanity’s mission statement is:  “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.”

In 2015 Habitat for Humanity of Omaha will complete up to 45 homes. Homes are built with donor contributions, volunteer labor and donated materials. Families who partner with Habitat Omaha are required to complete up to 350 hours of Sweat Equity by helping on the build site and by attending homeownership workshops.  Their monthly mortgage payments are then used to build more homes.

  • Habitat Omaha builds new houses and renovates existing homes.
  • These houses are modest and affordable.
  • Most Habitat Omaha houses are located in neighborhoods east of 72nd Street.
  • Our Washington County committee builds a house in Blair, Nebraska.
