Elkhorn Hills is a great place that cares for the youth in our community. Our first meal to the youth served by Youth Emergency Services (YES) was a success! A big “Thank You” to everyone who donated cash to purchase the chicken and to those who donated drinks, paper products and all of the other food items. Thank you for helping to share the love of Jesus to these youth.
EHUMC has selected Youth Emergency Services as its mission of the month. The mission of YES is to serve homeless and at-risk youth by providing critically-needed resources which empower them to become self-sufficient. Elkhorn Hills member Tom Beeson finally gets a big deer. Check out the story in the Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, OWH article. Nobody in Tom Beeson’s family believed he could shoot a big deer. All three of Beeson’s kids — Joe, John and Elly — have shot nice deer, all bigger than Beeson’s first and only kill before now. So this fall, when he killed a 5×5 whitetail on a solo trip, he made sure to take a selfie so he’d have proof.
The first annual chaperone fundraiser sponsored by the EHUMC GRACE Sunday school class was a rousing success! A Comedy Night and Dinner was held on Feb. 6th from 7 – 9 pm to raise funds for chaperones on the youth mission trips this summer. The event sold out! Additionally, many generous members who were not able to attend donated to this worthy cause. The FLC was transformed into an Italian dinner theatre for a delightful evening of good food, fellowship, and Christian comedy.
Thank you to the Snow Team Heroes who cleared the sidewalks, stairs, and doorways of the church today. The volunteer members of our Elkhorn Hills snow team braved these brutal conditions for you and me. Thank you, snow team members!
