Note from Pastor Rebecca

Our celebration of the Lenten Season begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6th with a 7pm Worship Service and the imposition of ashes for all who would like to participate.  We will talk about what it’s like to live our lives wholeheartedly.  What it’s like to take off the filter of perfectionism and celebrate who we truly are – chosen, beloved, and gifted children of God.  I think it will be a powerful way to begin this season of reflection and renewal and I hope that you’ll join us!

On Sunday mornings during Lent we will be using Adam Hamilton’s book “Creed” as our guide.  It focuses on one of the most well-known historic creeds of the church – The Apostle’s Creed – and we will be sharing that as an Affirmation of Faith each week as we unpack what Christians believe and why.  Join us at 9am or 10:30am March 10th through April 21st (Easter Sunday).

We will also have two “Creed” Small Group Studies for those wanting to dig deeper into scripture and our Christian heritage – they will be Sunday mornings at 10:30am in the Grace Classroom and in the Conference Room with the Breakfast Club.  Please visit with Bonnita Sherburne and Lena Beeson for more information.  It is a 6-week study and you are invited to join us for as many of those sessions as you are able – we’re always glad to have new voices and perspectives at the table!

Lent can be a busy and beautiful season in the church, and we’re excited about these opportunities to connect with God and one another in worship, study, and prayer!  May God bless you and your Lenten journey!

In Christ, Pastor Rebecca
