Stephen Center
The Stephen Center is the only homeless shelter in South Omaha. The organization is committed to assisting individuals and families restore their physical, emotional, and spiritual health through a continuum of care. In addition to providing food and shelter to the homeless, the Center operates a 90-day residential alcohol, drug, and domestic violence rehabilitation program. It also operates a medical clinic staffed by volunteer doctors and nurses. Student volunteer opportunities include clerical and maintanence tasks such as answering the telephone, writing thank you notes, photocopying, straightening food stores, and cleaning the shelter.
We at Elkhorn Hills have just started volunteer our time to provide a meal for all residents and anyone that comes in looking for a hot meal. If you would like to volunteer or help out monetarily please call the Church Office.(See Below)
