Elkhorn Hills is one of 10 churches in the Omaha metro area that belongs to the "Elf Coalition" of Habitat for Humanity. By partnering with Habitat we have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives for others within our community. We have heard through many of the families that we're not just building homes but we are building lives by providing a better living environment and a fresh start.

This year we will be building a 5 bedroom home at 3307 Spaulding. The build begins on Saturday June 3rd and continues every weekend until the house has been completed, which is estimated to be around the end of July. You are welcome to work any weekend (Sat. and/or Sun.) However, Elkhorn Hills' designated work day is Saturday June 24th. If there is enough interest, we will plan additional work days. For anyone who is interested in working, there is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex or you may contact Dale Langendorfer @ 758-9207
In addition to providing volunteers, Elkhorn Hills has the responsibility to help pay for the materials needed to construct the home. This year our goal is to raise $5,000. Elkhorn Hills has been very supportive of what Habitat stands for and we expect that to continue. This year our challenge is greater due to the increased cost of building materials. if any of you are able to donate building supplies or know of someone who would, please contact Dale Langendorfer.

I encourage you to ask yourself "What is MY role going to be? How can I help this family's dream of owning their own home become a reality?". To make a contribution simply write Habitat on the memo line of your check and place it in the offering plate.
